None of us really think about it, but what would you do if something happened to your pet? Are you prepared in case of an emergency?
The American Veterinary Medical Association and the Humane Society of the United States have offered some tips for pet owners who may experience something like this in their lifetime.
First and foremost, you should use caution if something happens to your pet because they may be scared and confused. Even though you may be their owners for years, they still may try to bite or scratch you. Always keep your face away from their mouth. This may cause the animal to be scared of you.
Make sure you have your veterinarians' phone number in your phone or an emergency pet number. You should muzzle your pet in order to prevent it from biting you. Wrap a small pet in a towel and put in a confined area (small box) and for larger pets, you should use a blanket as a sling to transport them. Try not to put any pressure on the injured area because you can worsen the condition.
