April is National Heartworm Awareness Month! As the weather warms up this spring, it's important to take steps to protect your pets against heartworm disease.
Heartworm disease is transmitted through infected mosquitoes that then bite your pet. Both indoor and outdoor pets are at risk of heartworm disease.
Here are a few signs to be on the lookout for this spring.
Signs of Heartworm Disease:
- Coughing
- Asthma-Like Attacks
- Periodic Vomiting
- Lack of Appetite
- Weight Loss
- Difficulty Walking
- Fainting
- Seizures
